He is a graduate of the University of Lagos, where he obtained B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Mass communication. He worked at different times as Staff Reporter, Senior Staff Reporter, Assistant News Editor, News Editor and Editor-in-Chief of several newspapers and a specialized magazine before joining the faculty of the University of Lagos in 1997.

He is a consultant on behaviour change communication to UNICEF, WHO, Lagos State Government, and several other governmental and non-governmental organizations. He has also facilitated many workshops on community relations and corporate social responsibility. His research interest is in the area of communication, media and development.
